[Resolved] HTTP access to archives.jenkins.io unreachable

The system needed an operating system restart to use the most recent kernel patch. The operating system patch install and restart was completed with 60 seconds or less of downtime.

The SSL certificate on archives.jenkins.io was scheduled to expire in less than 10 days. The issue was resolved by using the notes from a ci.jenkins.io certificate renewal failure that is recorded in the Jenkins infra runbook. No outage due to the SSL certificate renewal, just prevented an outage when the certificate would expire.

[Final Message] The Puppet infrastructure had been fixed, resulting in an automatic repair of all broken services.

[Initial Message] An outage on our Puppet infrastructure system is currently happening.

A mitigation had been applied resulting in disabling configuration update to avoid breaking services.

The following services had been put down before we could mitigate:

ci.jenkins.io
archives.jenkins.io

We are working on fixing these services and the Puppet infrastructure

The HTTP server on archives.jenkins.io was not responding to requests. The mirror system on get.jenkins.io excluded archives.jenkins.io because it was unreachable. Issue was resolved by stopping and starting the apache2 service on the host (okra.jenkins.io).
